I looked at quite a few programs before choosing InvestorRT. I was the only program I found that could do backtesting for daytrading with entries other than at the beginning or end of a 1 min bar. Obviously in daytrading 60 sec can be an eternity. I generally test with my entry price at the signal price plus .05 to allow for slippage which seems on average to be reasonable using Interactive Brokers for execution.

Other users have mentioned similar features they couldn't find elsewhere and the developers are very responsive to adding features and correcting bugs. They often come out with new versions every few weeks! Only downside I would say is that they're a relatively small outfit and the documentation is not as well organized as it would be for a bigger company which might have full time people just to work on that. All in all though still the best program I know of.

  4. I had a look at "INVESTOR RT". I were not well aware of
this product. It looks very promising, and easy to work
    with.

The only question rise is that, why their real time chat
room has live support on tuesday from 4.30PM To 5.30PM only?
The members in chat rooms also act like dead Zombies.

Is it possible to program to find patterns like several 5min
consolidating, head and soulders, pre-market gap, short-term
    trend break and reversal,....

I am new to writing indicator and system trading, so if this
product has amost capabalities, then i sould spend my time on
    it daily.

Can I use TC2000 with IB quote feed?

Do these scanning platforms use their own quote feeds or need external quote source like iqfeed or IB feed?

    Thanks.

  6. No, it does not work with IB feed. Their EOD version is
free. For real time scan they use their own feed and you
    get charged monthly 29$.
Their CD history Data format can be read many other
    software.

I am surprised nobody suggested Amibroker. It's a good scanning and backtesting software.

  8. wealth-lab, Neoticker, amibroker, pristine ESP M.T scanner
also should be in this list. I am more surprised why we can
have 10 options with ET, with so many products to choose
    from.

    Nana,

The tuesday chat is not a trading type chat as much as a discussion of existing and proposed features in the software as well as a chance to point out any bugs or complaints. If you look at some of the historical archives, you'll get the idea:
http://www.linnsoft.com/chat/sessionLogs.htm Theres is also a chat on Thursdays for new users. Also there is a fairly active Yahoo message board where users can post questions/ideas which are answered by other users or the company principals.

I have used IRT to create an auto screening program for per-market gaps. You may wish to e-mail them to ask if any particular screens you want can be done.
