Seriously? My bad LOL I'm not in any room and am not looking to join a room either. I jump in the TradePilotPro room once in a while, but that's about it.
And again, if anyone actually had an automated system that could consistently make money in the market, why would they sell it? Why would anyone sell a gold mine like that? I wonder sometimes at how little some people actually use any logic. You guys that are still hanging on waiting for some trading room to "show you the light" are going to be very disappointed. There is nothing wrong with learning something from an educator here or there... but the bottom line is that you are responsible for your own learning. There are going to be good pieces of advice that you come across, and bad pieces of advice that you come across. An educator could just as easily be teaching you something that you really should NOT be doing as a trader, and all the while you are paying him or her for the privilege of it! The thing is, your own internal radar has to be able to determine the good stuff from the BS. If you can't do that, then in all seriousness, QUIT NOW because you will never make it. If you are hopping from one room to another hoping that someone will lead you down the step-by-step path to success, and really can't figure out who is telling the truth and who is just useless, then QUIT NOW. You don't have what it takes to be a trader. If you haven't figured this out within a few months, and if this is your second or third year of trying to find that right educator for you, QUIT NOW. You will never make it. Trading is a competitive game, and only the best make it. If you are struggling for years with trading rooms and still can't figure out your head from your ass, guess what - you are not the best. You are not even close. Trading is not for you. You will never make it in the top 10%, which is what is required to be able to make money. How many more ways can I put this? Guys, in this game you can beat 17 out of 20 people at it, and STILL FAIL. Think about that. You people struggling along like this without learning much are like those contestants on American Idol who think that if they just work a little harder or change their singing style a bit, maybe they will become stars. But the reality is that they just can't sing, and it will never happen for them. THE REALITY is that if you don't have the confidence to say "screw you" to whoever is trying to teach you something and to pass their advice through your own BS filter almost immediately, then you probably don't have what it takes. I have yet to see an online educator that wasn't flawed in some way in what they were teaching. Some are truly terrible, others are pure scam artists, and some are just so-so traders... but ALL of them that I have seen have at least some flaws here or there in what they are teaching. So if you are learning from these people, you are at least learning SOME things wrong. Think about that before you shell out any more money, and ask yourself if it really makes sense to listen to any of these guys blindly.
Fast Trader, it was this past summer. And yes, I believe David was there. I think you are right about not stressing the indicators that much. But they did try to push them too much for my liking! As I stated previously, I have more firsthand experience than most about such things, so I am very biased, when someone try's to sell me such things! To me it's just like throwing money away! To me, I don't understand why a place can't call live trades & teach you the 'whys' later, after the trade? That's how the vast majority of businesses work in the world! Even when you learn to fly a plane, the instructor 'SHOWS' you how to fly the plane, before you fly it by yourself! Even though you put in a thousand hours on the simulator! If the instructor don't show me first I will never get my license, right?? same thing with MD's, lawyers etc.! To me saying trust their education without proof it works is not the way to go!! Because y' know, if we use yesterdays chart I can be the greatest trader in the world too!!
FB123, you are right. I was a total newbie (learning how to setup the charts and how to use the DOM) when I was in a very inexpensive education room. I did learn some stuff there. My mistake was that too much faith in "the system" , being a naive newbie. There are some stuff I have to unlearn. Precious time had gone by. I still believe that one can learn useful stuff from rooms and webinars. I am not looking for a total system. As zx12 said, a room mentor can show the live trades and explain the trades - while it is being taken or later. I believe I will learn most form such a room - if the mentor trades well and shows it. You probably don't think such a room exist. I am not sure if such a room exist either. It doesn't have be pure education (no trading calls at all) or pure signal (no explanation of the trades).
Here's the problem: If you are looking for someone to show you what to do, that means that you don't know what to do yourself. And since all of these educators have flaws in their game (just look at the guy who takes 1 pt ES trades on a day when it is running 20 pts, for example!), then some of the stuff you are learning is garbage. This is far more harmful to you than just trying to figure things out on your own. I don't disagree that you can learn a few things from other people, but the reality is that those things are generally few and far between. You have to sit through a LOT of crap and wrong ideas to get to a nugget of real info. Your time is better spent just studying the market yourself. If you can't sift through the garbage in this game, then you have no chance. And if you CAN do that.... then why exactly are you paying for a room anyways? I mean, if you are smart enough to detect what is garbage and what isn't, then just what benefits are trading rooms giving you that you couldn't have figured out yourself? I bet you couldn't name many useful things you learned from a trading room that you couldn't have learned just from reading a few books on trading. Any time you spend in a trading room is only wasting your precious energy listening to someone else's theory of how to trade the market instead of figuring it out your own. What's worse, it's causing damage to your ability to see the market in an unfiltered way. Add to that the fact that some of the stuff you are learning is just plain old wrong, and I fail to see any benefit in these rooms. Understand this: In order to be a successful trader, you have to be a LEADER, not a FOLLOWER. There is not one single follower in the history of humanity that has EVER become a successful trader. This game is all about seeing what the crowd is doing, and then taking a step apart from them and thinking differently. If you feel like you need the "training wheels" of a trading room, that is showing that you are a FOLLOWER. Followers don't make it in trading. It's one thing to learn a few things here or there from people, but if you are constantly searching for a room where someone is going to hold your hand on the path to success, then by definition, you are a follower and you don't have the personality type to become a successful trader. Prove that you are a LEADER by rejecting all the rooms, taking a fresh look at the market on your own, and figure out how to trade it in a way that makes sense to you. If you are too afraid to do that and feel that you need the "safety net" of a so-called "expert" to guide you, then chances are that you are screwed anyways.
Because contrary to people with not much imagination, sharing an idea and having lots of traders acting on it actually STREGTHENS the system!
LOL Please continue your excellent series of posts, FB123. Although most here on this site are too clueless to even begin to understand what you are talking about, your comments continue to act as signposts to profitability for the wayward noobs. Good trading
Thanks... I'm under no illusions that I'll be putting the trading rooms out of business any time soon, though!
