Which free or low cost charting software?

    As for free you can try http://www.turtrades.com it is a bit different than most. It is sort of game/practice software. Where you can get a chart at past date and fast forward, it lets you gain years of experience in hours. Sort of TiVO for trading.

    I use MultiCharts (www.multicharts.com) for strategy development and 1st-Profit (www.1st-profit.com) for charting and order placement. The latter is cheap, visual, and it's very easy to place orders and trade.

  4. Open ECry's platform and data is free to live accounts. Depending on what you need, you can also plug their data into other charts if you need to. Worth a look.

    OEC Trader, as opposed to 1st-Profit, has also the DOM trading feature, but I found it more comfortable to trade with 1st-Profit because of its position management (not order management that most software has). You will enjoy it if you often revert a position direction or change a position size. Also charting is more usable IMHO.
