Dear forum: What will happen to the banking system / brokerage business in case we have another leg down to say Dow 5000? Which brokers / banks will survive? Maybe some smaller brokerage operations will falter in case a severe recession / deflation hits. Which? Isn't it true we also have to be concerned about security of funds, not only with low commissions. By the way, insurance companies securing funds also would be in jeopardy in that case. Which brokerage companies have the largest capital base / customer funds ? Which companies have lost least on a per share basis in the current market ? Any ideas ?
