apologize for the potentially ignorant question (I'm an options guy, not futures)......

if I wanted to get long BTC and I'm comfortable with the volatility and potential appreciation/depreciation but NOT comfortable with the exchanges/hacks,security,theft would getting long futures on (CBOE/CME) with 100% equity (no margin) and cash settlement give me the same exposure with out the security concerns I have on the BTC exchanges ?? (leaving the futures premium out of the discussion for now)

    thanks.

Technically yes. Just realize that on CME, minimum exposure will be 5 coins. So if you're trading less than 5 coins on a BTC exchange you won't have equivalent equity coverage.

Yes, but when he typed "...getting long futures on (CBOE/CME)..." I figured the note of caution should be mentioned since he might not have known that CME was 5x larger than CBOE.

  8. The future of bitcoin is something that some markets are discussing, such as if brokers must accept payments in bitcoin, if they should advise on cryptocurrencies. Currently South Korea are the ones that have given more to talk about on this issue.
