Which brokerages can I use to trade index futures?

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by TraderGreg, Jun 16, 2008.

  1. I am currently trading stocks and options with TradeKing, but I want to begin trading index futures (they don't offer any futures). Where can I do this?

  2. Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, Velocity, MB Trading, TransAct and a host of others.

How large an account? How many round turns a day do you expect to trade? What do you expect to use for charting?

  3. Thank you for your answer. I'm looking at maybe one or two round turns per day, starting maybe with only one of the Mini Dows at a time. However, I'm looking to paper trade first, but I have not found this either. Does tradestation provide paper trading?

  4. I'll 2nd the OEC recommendation.

  5. Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

  6. I've used Go Futures for a couple of months and am happy with their service and commissions.

  7. How do I open a demo account? Can't find it on the site.

As long as everyone is plugging their services, might as well plug ours.

Via IB you can trade global future, options, stock and FX via one account and one screen. There also is a paper trader simulator.
