Whether an options writer or buyer has better edge? Why?

  8. Funny thing is I sold a bunch of puts hoping they would go in the money and I get assigned stock. But instead things went up.

    And on another note. If you are selling puts because you want to collect premium and not own stock at or below the strike price you really should hedge buy doing a spread.

  10. Why didn't you just buy or sell the stock outright if your intention of selling the puts was not to just collect the premium?
