  1. BMI is a rough estimate of body fat in the general pop.

A guy like this on a BMI scale is a fat arse. Fine except it can cost you in health insurance.

There are certain unique athletes like offensive lineman that require a calorie surplus to build & maintain their massive body structures. They tend to carry some excess body fat, but that doesn't mean they aren't in perfect shape for their profession. This guys is obviously carrying some excess body fat, but he's probably a world class athlete in his sport.

  7. This thread has taken a left turn into fatness? ADHD I guess. Time to move it into Chit Chat.

Obesity and Covid mortality are correlated, although the death rate for everyone seems to have dropped these days.

This thread had little do with politics even before we started fat shaming the OP

"some very fat people keep it all on the outside"

Sumo wrestlers are a perfect example of this.

  10. Somebody has seen too many end of the world movies. Not a chance this turns into some apocalyptic event. Death rate needs to go through the roof by years end just to get to the 500K or so that some of the more sane and rational virology types were projecting, and that ain't an apocalypse.
Virus makes a strong return come fall, we get maybe 300K or so by years end, and that's unlikely given all the prevention protocols in place and better treatments for those who are hospitalized.
