Where should I start?

  1. Hi all, I have been studying the markets for the last 4 years and trading pretty lightly for 2. I am 28 years old without a college degree and very badly wanting to make trading/working in the markets my career of choice full time since it has turned into a passion of mine. Any suggestions on what I should do to become a trader for a firm? Go to a prop firm first? Should I obtain my series 7 on my own first?

Thanks for all comments , very much appreciated.

Can you survive on negative trading income for a year or two ?

That should be the first question.

  3. most prop firms will sponsor you to take the series 7 (even though the cost is out of your pocket). get to a firm, trade small to start and learn as much as you can.

  4. If this kind of market keeps up, you might want to consider a real job

stay away, the marke is dying. everyone becomes more greedy. this makes impossible for you to maitain your bottomline unless you want to be a contract killer. who wants to hire me? I'd give you a discount. But I will raise price later.
