Perhaps you have a pro-China bias? I think it is crystal clear whether it is China or Russia that poses the bigger population, economic, and expansion threat. Russia playing around in Syria is thousands of miles away from the US. China bidding for mines that are in Northern Canada quite close to Alaska is a completely different ballgame. Perhaps you remember what happened when Russia was playing ball in Cuba? That is what China is now doing in the Pacific close to strategically important US bases. Perhaps it is you who is being brainwashed by the US leadership that has a hardon about a natural gas pipeline that runs from Russia to Western Europe? Instead, China is happily shopping in the US heartland, Australia, Canada, Europe, it occupies the Vietnamese and Philippine islands and the US does nothing about it. You seem to be identifying the wrong enemy here... China is even doing major shopping in Russia, not the other way around: https://www.researchgate.net/public...a_Where_do_they_go_and_how_Important_are_they https://www.bruegel.org/2019/11/chi...ket-and-what-it-means-for-the-european-union/ https://www.ft.com/content/4e556a7a-b69f-11e8-b3ef-799c8613f4a1 https://www.csis.org/analysis/china-and-russia-economic-unequals
Perhaps you should do a simple count of the Chinese vs Russian money in London, New York, L.A., Vancouver, Toronto, Christchurch, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne? Russian money is a drop in the bucket in comparison. Ever heard of Russian investments in Western media, movies, newschannels? Check out the Chinese interest. Heard of Russian-owned mines in Australia or Canada? Ranches? Cattle Stations? Do Russians own major Western hotels? The dozen Russian comrades in Florida are like a few flies on Xi's ass. Perhaps you can ask @themickey to chime in to share how China's interventions and meddling in Australia is perceived. I am pretty sure he is cool with the few Russians in town.
Perhaps you have a thing for the word perhaps. Anyway I have a pro-USA bias and don't believe the China nonsense wingnuts are selling. China wants to topple us from being number one in the world market. We've been doing a good job of that ourselves, worrying about umm what China and Russia and Iran and North Korea are doing wasting resources on fighting boogiemen. PS bigger population equals bigger consumer market. And on the other hand population size doesn't matter when it comes to blowing chit up.
Everything you said is agreeable in your last post, but has nothing to do with whether Russia or China is the bigger threat. I made a case that it is China we in the Western word should be more worried about, not Russia. If you can't agree then that is completely OK. But what you just talked about is a different topic entirely.
You bring interesting points. Thank you. Here is a counterpoint starter. 1. It was Russia's successful bid for American Uranium, wasn't it? 2. Cuban Crisis was a draw in Russia's favour: US had to pull its tail here and there after the successful Russian bluff, e.g. only Air Force stayed in Turkey and Italy, rockets were taken out, etc. Russians are masters of bluff and false flag operations. I firmly believe it was Russia's drop of the virus in Wuhan
You seem to be guided by your two local radio stations. And even if it was Russia it changes nothing in regards to threat impact. Putin plays games to stay relevant because he got nothing else. The Chinese are determined to take your kids' dinner away to feed it to their dogs. I sent you multiple links which explain in plain detail why China is a much more serious economic and strategic threat, all of which you ignored. China just released a virus that killed millions and which pretty much catapulted China onto an economic equal level playing field. In the meanwhile American security services keep themselves busy searching for the culprit of the hacks. Lol. That's like a dummy trying to figure out who poked him in the ass while standing right in the middle of a burning house. It's called misguided priorities
