    A follow-up to this article about abandoned wells. It is a significant problem -- and the laws were all written to simply allow drillers to easily abandon them and allow the leaking wells to toxically pollute the land without remedy.

    I believe that most folks would not have been able to afford fossil fuel energy if a full accounting of burning it had been done. The laws of thermodynamics are pretty clear and cannot be broken.

    Entropy. You can't win. You can't break even. You can't even quit the game.
