Where does one work after trading?

The best is to go in the wealth management, financial adviser path. You at least know something about the markets and can guide people on their investing journey. The problem with WM is that it's basically sales and you have to get a client base, and that's hard with all the competition out there.

Outside of that, you're almost starting for ground zero. So, sales is an option, just try to get into a good sales area. Whatever you did before trading can be an option as well.

  2. This is like a person with a resume, "gambler". and looking to do any job....of course this means he failed. and takes risks, and hates having a boss, and maybe a short fuse...

i do think finance is worthless...analyst, researcher, all sheep. bankers are idiots....investment bankers are rare..

so, yes, try your own thing and call obama for some welfare.

brokers lie too much...if your ethics are that low, do something like porn then...

it's funny, most ex-traders realize the skill set is so limited that even McD's might be a challenge...which is fine; means you went for it. can phelps do anthing else but swim? no...but it paid off for him. if not, doomed.

"well Surf, I'd rather blow out an account than be an eternal lost soul such as yourself. I let it all out and havent looked back. You should try it."

"let it all out" you are joking.

Actually, surf has said some fairly lucid things over the last few months. But it's all always negated by the fact that he thinks Sykes is a legit player.

claims might be a better word than thinks. a ride in a Lamborghini with promises of a few ... has swayed many a better man.

actually surfer is worth a read at times.

  9. Thanks.

Regarding Sykes--- I never rode in his lambo just checked out his Miami pad. I have known sykes since pre hedge fund days as I met him at the 30 under 30 trader monthly party and he attended several surf fests. The guys marketing is obnoxious but I guess that works with his clients. However, his claims are truthful and in all my years knowing him had he ever lied or stretched the truth with me. He has the audits and statements. All you need to do is ask.
