I trade from the intersection of the Biblebelt, Cornbelt, and Rustbelt less than 20 miles from the H S I graduated from and in a class which numbered all of 27.

I had some success doing this thing called investing. So I thought I might try trading. I started actively trading stocks out of my home about 15 years ago. In those days real time quotes cost me nearly 240 dollars a month and you put your orders in by phone and got execution reports the same way. Deep discount brokers were charging commissions of 29 dollars a trade.

I have been trading full-time and have made my living trading since 1997.

This year, I started receiving my pension from my former career and although I daytrade every day including some scalping, I have cut back a bit. I still love to trade, but I try to take my profits and get out of the market before noon.

I am 27, I have been trading for almost 1 year come January. I scalp and swing trade the mini dow YM and the mini Crude QM an occasionally the mini gold YG contracts. I was in sales for a manufacturing company for 5 years after college and this is the first time in my life I have enjoyed my job.

  9. just found this thread.

    27. in san diego, CA. 8 months ago, Icasually discovered the joy of options and without any money management rules, lost quite a bit. Those following 2 months were quite pathetic (see "rogue trader" movie ... hahah ... ok, it wasn't *that* bad)

Then I got my act together, decided to start trading full time, studied hard, learned some method, most important money management and entry/exit rules, pay for some proper research, and now I'm almost entirely recovered. So basically I've been profitable since I decided to start 'trading'. Consistency has only started to come recently, since I've reduced my leverage (just figured out very recently my comfort level for position size on futures that keeps me from making bad trades [thus keeping impulsiveness and nervousness away]. this was a little easier to do with stock and options)

Trade everything - US equities, currencies, qg, zb, many options, etc. etc. Love selling puts in range traded stocks in a relatively unleveraged manner spread out all over the entire market. Mostly position/swing trades. not too much scalping.

  10. NYC - Trading since 1996. I'm in funds, options, stocks, ETF's, and treasuries. Once I figure out how to do these YM minis, I would probably test that out as well. Forex is also a possibility. Never sleep much anyway. Can't really make much money sleeping. Then again, there is always something going on...
