Are you comfortable with the average maturity of 2.9 years for VBIRX? (Or, perhaps more aptly, the average duration of 2.8 years.) For me, the average duration frightens me off from using something like that as a cash proxy.

I have often thought of having a room where all six spaces, walls, ceiling and floor, has a multitude of safe doors and have a dollar behind each one and the money is hidden under toilet that doesn't work.

 

I can see myself forgetting and throwing it out, great idea as the last place someone would look though!
