I trade prop with Assent and use Anvil platform and eSignal charts. My question is, how can I automate this: List of 100 stocks, based on NYSE specialist opening price (not ecn): Stock gaps up >3% ->Sell immediately Stock gaps down <3% ->Buy immediately Obviously this is just an example case, and it's not quite that simple, but trying to understand for such a program, where to start as far as trying to black-box it. The actual trade parameters are by no means super-complex, but would require a little expertise to work into a program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There are 3 software packages that I know of that have a grid application. NinjaTrader, Tradestation, and Neoticker. A grid application is going to be overall easier to work with than 100 charts IMO. Tradestation might be the easiest to program. Excel can do things like what you want but my experiences with it and trying to get data into it properly have never been satisfactory, it is one way to go however. Somebody that has succeded with Excel might chime in here with some suggestions.
