Not really sure where I go from here. I work at an investment bank doing trade support at the trading floor for equities. Mid office role. Seems like there's not much room for growth at this position money / position wise. I want out in 7 months (worked 2). Also b/c I dont' like this small city. Money's decent for a single guy that doesn't spend much. I can not be a trader (they're retail traders), as I do not have series 7 / will not be sponsored (working as a contractor). When I leave, I'd like to be in California (hoping for a job related to this industry, but seems kinda far fetched). 2nd choice would be NY. What kinda jobs are out there in California that are finance related? Being a broker probably fits me the best, since I'm good with people and first impressions / talking about the market / stocks. But I definetly would not like cold calling. Ultimately, I'd like to be an analyst, but I'm only doing the CFA level 1 in dec. (not even sure I"ll pass, haven't studied enough, gonna go hardcore for 2 months). A lot of random thoughts, any suggestions welcome.
