Where can I get the total volume of the market

Discussion in 'Trading' started by freewilly, Apr 19, 2009.

  1. Not the volume of DIA, QQQQ or SPY. I mean the total volume of all stocks traded in the market.

Or the total volume of 100 stocks that make up SP100, all total volume of 500 stocks that make up SP500.

NASDAQ market is fine as well.

If I can not get them free, I am OK to pay subscription. Real time with intraday total market volume is the best, or at least is updated AFTER HOURS.

    Thanks in advance,

  2. edit: Don't know why this won't work but if you google

    DJI

It will give you daily volume.

  3. Thanks. Hot them on Yhaoo finance, google finance and CNN money, probably lot more.

However, do they provide intraday volume data? For instance, at 3:45 pm, can I check today's market volume so far?

    Thanks

  4. Yes--it updates as the day goes on.

  5. WSJ.com is my favorite provider of this information. Plus it's totally free. (You need subscription for more advanced things and some of the articles.)

You will find total volume, intraday volume and a lot of other interesting information on this link:
