When will Ford go bankrupt?

  1. Basically you are saying that if we had a so-called "academic" president the Ford Motor Company would have built better cars that consumers wanted. Give me a friggin break.

The deterioration of our society has and is being caused by the destruction of the family unit. It's been going on the last 40 years. There has not been one president in the last 100 years that has had a detrimental effect on our abilities to become or maintain our current leadership position in the world.

  3. Very true and you're right on the money. This same pattern of corruption, buerocracy, selfishness & degradation has shown itself in the collapse of the Roman & Ottoman empires.

  4. I was VERY SERIOUS. This country is great because of our innovation and capitalistic system of government, not because of our "figurehead" presidents.

  5. What you refer to as East is so diverse and so varied that it would be a long strech to put them in the same bag.
As for the competition, cheap labor has a lot to do with East's completeness. Another thing is its dare I say - poverty. Many countries in that part of the world are developing because thay are so far behind in terms of standard of living that trying to catch up with the level of consumption of the first world is creating a boom. Naturally, the issue is more complex than a venue like this board allows to present. Nevertheless, just because a country can produce 100% of junk that is being sold at my local 99cent store does not make it an economic superpower.

Strange how history keeps repeating itself. Different players, different times but similiar scenario.
The British Empire invaded Afghanistan twice and lost twice.
The Soviet Empire invaded once and lost

And now the Western Alliance ???
Humiliated in Iraq but GWB hasn't quite got to recognise the fact yet. Any day now the penny will drop hopefully.
Doesn't look good boys. Think I will get some shorts on and it aint even summer.

  7. You are a prophet in your own time Humpy ... a rare quality.

Might I suggest " Learn your history"
    should read
" Learn from history, otherwise you are condemned to repeat the same mistakes"

Ford Motors, with new leadership, will surprise...to the upside over the next 3-5 years...

Most likely the US Gov will "help" in some form...call it what you want, socialist or capitalist, a little mix of these two and the outcome is a larger middle class; it has worked wonders in Japan, Western Europe and now China...

There are NO free/open markets, only negotiated markets...
