    Some public safety expenses like gasoline could be up even more than the ~7.5% YOY inflation.

    Let's look at the full budget with resource allocation. Is $70,283,033 greater or less than $70,363,362. Let us know.

    I'll dumb it down for you again:

    Since your contention is that they were defunded due to the 'defund the police' movement;

    post a credible source that says, in effect, Durham defunded due to the 'defund the police' movement.

    I can't make it any simpler.

    A credible source has to make that conclusion. Not you. Not me. Not other armchair pundits pouring over reams of raw data at your behest.

    I think this sort of thing happens when the left brain is disconnected from the right brain.

    Would the statements of Durham City Council members be considered a credible source.

    You know the people who reduced the FY2021-22 police budget by 0.1% and eliminated 20 officer positions to fund their "public safety department" of "violence interrupters" -- all on the premise that this is a police alternative supporting the "defund the police" movement.

    Notice how the grant money dropped from 2,368,734 to 1,336,536

    Lower likey covid grant money is not defunding the police.The city gave the Durham PD more in 2022 than they did in 2021
