When it comes to crime, Democrats are in danger of being mugged by reality

Post a source for your contention. Not a bunch of raw data where you tell the reader to "do some research yourself."

    Let me dumb it down:

If you contend that the budget was cut due to the 'defund the police' movement, post a source that makes that same conclusion.

Don't post a bunch of raw data where unqualified-in-statistics readers must compile into a conclusion. And in that case, the reader becomes the source, which is not a credible source like a major news outlet or academia. But you know this already.

Bottom line, your bullshit isn't flying for free anymore. Either post sources supporting your contentions, or you make it clear you don't have any sources.

Evidence is something that makes a proposition more or less likely, not a statement of conclusiveness.

Poor @gwb-trading has already wasted a lot of time patiently catering to Tony Baloney's tactics.

The reality as reported from many sources...

DPD is presently the largest division of city government, receiving approximately $70.3 million in the 2020-2021 budget. The 2021-2022 budget allocates approximately $2.8 million to the CSD, with $1.4 million in operating costs originating from DPD. Those funds include money for city-contracted positions and community initiatives.

Johnson said that CSD also has additional funds from Bloomberg and FUSE Corps not reflected in the budget at the May 27 work session.

DPD’s budget is largely unchanged—a 0.1% reduction from the previous year, because the department received external funds during the pandemic—but the council pledged to cut up to 20 vacant positions if the budget passes June 21, and organizations are now calling to reduce DPD’s budget by 10%.

Why don't your provide the entire breakdown of the total police budget instead of just a single line. You know how about showing the Grant funds as well (found one line below from what you pasted) to provide the complete budget picture. Showing the resource allocation page for the police budget (Page 255 for FY2021-22) would be revealing as well. But we wouldn't want you to ruin your narrative by pointing out the reality:

    FY 2019-20 Actual = $ 67,763,510
    FY 2020-21 Adopted = $70,363,362
    FY 2021-22 Adopted = $ 70,283,033
    Change = FY 2021 -22 from previous year = -0.1%

Don't you still have some questions to answer?

    GWB isn't wasting time.

He's busy as a cat trying to cover up shit on concrete, trying to fight-off being exposed as a chronic bullshitter.

He considers it time well spent.

And if you don't mind, I'm sure he'd appreciate you being his fluffer.

Grant money usually comes from the federal government and is not a part of city funding as it varies by year.If the city got a bigger grant for covid in 2021 than they did in 2022 that is not defunding the police. The city of Durham gave more to police in 2022 than they did in 2021

So all the statements from progressive Durham City Council members stating how successful they have been in defunding the police and reducing the number of police on the streets are not good enough for you? How about the Council member Jillian Johnson stating she wishes to cut the number of police to zero. Shall we start looking at the statements from the Durham Beyond Policing organization (which I have not even brought up yet) -- who three progressive council members are part of.

What type of magical source is good enough for you to be a "source that makes that same conclusion." Should I start posting information from local right-wing blogs and Twitter accounts? Will that work for you? At some point it is clear that the "evidence" you are requesting as proof is ridiculous.

I provided my list of sources -- all aligned with my contention. Tony and you just want to play childish word-smithing games rather than have an educational discussion. That is your prerogative.

Tell us -- what is the rate of inflation. Did the police budget even come near the inflation increase?
