When Indicators Don't Lag

Discussion in 'Technical Analysis' started by BOC, Mar 22, 2015.

  1. You should read what I said:if condition X is fulfilled I initiate a trade, I also know already where my stop is ( entry +/- stop), and I also know already that if condition Y is meet, I will close my trade.
I know in advance what pattern will develop and only have to wait for the exact moment to act. So I plan in advance.
Of course you act in real time.

You cannot plan in advance when to take trades or exit.---What arrogance-- That is done in real time.

  3. You should watch in a dictionary for the definition of the words PLAN and ACT.
Normally you plan first and you act later.

    Example:last Wednesday trading the ES.
Before the opening I planned to go long if condition X would be fulfilled. At the first tick condition X was fulfilled so I went long. So I planned before the opening of the market, which is in advance (look ADVANCE up in a dictionary).
Conclusion:You can plan in advance when to take trades or exit.

A good advice for you: you should not worry what the market will do, you should worry what you should do in response to the market. Plan in advance!

  5. If two people have a discussion, this discussion will become quickly meaningless if the difference in IQ between the two persons is bigger than 30. This has been scientifically proven and is demonstrated here again. Normal communication becomes impossible at that point.

You misunderstand the statement, you never know with any degree of certainty when your condition X and Y will take place, hence you can only take care of business in real time as you watch an oscillation unfold.

The above can really become the basis for a whole new level of Zen in one's interactions at ET. This is a very good share. Nicely done, i_am_nobody.

  9. I use more than 1 condition, kept it simple in my example. But I have 1 condition that has a more than 80% succes ratio. And another one with an almost 100% succes ratio. This does not mean that I make money, this only means that that specific condition is almost always fulfilled after my "prediction". At the first tick of a new bar I see immediatelly if the conditons are fulfilled as expected, and trade within seconds.
Don't want to give more info, because what is mine should stay mine, and by old ET tradition there will always be posters who don't agree or give even worse comments.
If it was a misunderstanding then I don't understand why three times the same answer was send. It would have been interesting to have more explanation. Like I tried to do.
His statement was:You cannot plan in advance when to take trades or exit.

Well, I do plan in advance when to take trades or exits. It is always a conditional plan, but it is a plan. His statement was not formulated correctly. I never said that I know exactly when I will trade. I said that I plan in advance at which condition I can trade.

Note how the following prove the point ;)

In the past I have referenced the following exchange from The Mothman Prophecies as my response to just these sort of "discussions":

John Klein: I think we can assume that these entities are more advanced than us. Why don't they just come right out and tell us what's on their minds?

Alexander Leek: You're more advanced than a cockroach, have you ever tried explaining yourself to one of them?
