when are increased election margin requirements going back to usual?

    If they havent reset it already then it wouldn't surprise me if IB wont drop margin back until Trump either concedes or Biden gets officially certified as the winner.

    This will not help those risk management folks over at IB though. New NQ rates effective as of Friday's close...

    Only the (M)NQ though, not the other main indices. Weird.
     
  6. I still cant figure out exactly how to calculate the margin requirements of a hypothetical VIX option position without having to just let IB's software tell me and that's fairly annoying. I would like to be able to calculate it offline , for simulations among other things
     
  7. My guess is that they would at least wait until any uncertainty related to the US presidential election has been taken away. Political uncertainty in the US was a major reason for them to increase the margin requirements.

  10. regarding Interactive Brokers, the short answer is:
    NEVER
    Highest E-Mini margins in the industry.
