I have 2 GeForce 6600 GT's running 3 - Samsung P2770. No gaming. Would I notice any diff. with one of the above mentioned cards?
Your 6600s are a bit faster than the NVS 295, but you'd notice no difference in performance in a trading environment, watching movies, general computing. The 295 is fast enough to handle all of that. If your 6600 model has a fan, you might notice a quieter machine.
I'm still putting NVIDIA NVS 285 & 290 cards in trading rigs. They are dirt cheap and millions of them around. I've got an NVS 420 in my desktop driving three monitors and it works great as well. The PC I have hooked up to my TV has an onboard HDMI output (it's a cheap Acer re-branded as a Gateway) and it's been fine with movies & videos in both 720 and 1080. Sound has been great too.
AMD Radeon⢠HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Memory http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7870/Pages/radeon-7870.aspx#3 Working very well since I got it in May. Runs multi monitors no problem. It's a beast.
8400 GS video cards, made by PNY, EVGA or ASUS. They are simple, inexpensive, and they work. Each card supports 2 monitors. I have used 4 cards together to support 8 monitors total. No problem. About USD $30 a card, as new. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp...pw.r_qf.&fp=39ecb6b45886a9c8&biw=1044&bih=671
I picked up some NVS 295s for $30/ea on ebay, and thus far they seem to work great. Thanks for the info gents.
