  1. pf < 1.5 means random trading and possibly a lot of luck but an accident to happen. Mine swings between 2.5 and 4.5.

PF is just one measurement, needs to be looked at in context. I disagree that a pf of < 1.5 is random trading when other ratios are in order (sharpe or sortino, recovery factor).

I like it how people think if they make money it is not luck, it's skill, and when they lose money it's bad luck.

4.5. How can a pf swing? Keep on dreaming. The moment you accept that you lose money probably something good will happen. You are just showing off your ego here, trying to hide losses from yourself by calling yourself a winner.

There are maybe 100 people on this world who have a pf higher than 2.0 over more than 1000 trades.

    Profit factor swings. LOL

    Good luck, anyways.

Isn't the Frequency of trades important. A PF of 5 but only one trade in 5 years...Willl that make you money.?
You need enough opportunities to make any meaningful return

I think a profit factor that is not a negative number is a good one.

  6. About 90% of traders in this poll should have a profit factor less than 1, meaning that they are net losers. People are definitely not being truthful. :D
