I don't know but most of the guys interviewed in Schwager's Market Wizards don't have a business / finance degree. It's definitely not a prerequisite. The only way to be a better trader is to hangout with professionals and / or to spend years tinkering. You can read Hull on your own if you want the theoretical foundation.
I like your answer clear and straight forward not like other dooms. In my opinion doing a degree just for trading is not something anyone can afford and now days there are a lot of online courses available. which can replace those degrees. I believe trading is all about experience.
We all fail. We just come back stronger. I'd say stick to first principles as it's easy to go down the rabbit hole.
The best traders in the world have no degrees, or Some generic degree from Some generic college. If your life goal is to climb the corporate ladder....then yes, get two prestigious degrees. If your life goal is to be one of the best retail traders in the world....then no one can teach you that. That's something you have to discover invent on your own using your own ingenuity, independent thinking
