Thanks gnome!!! I see that soon Windows will no longer offer XP and Vista will be the standard. If you want XP you have to ask for a downgrade. DO you think all the bugs are out of Vista? I have it on the home computer and it is okay...just leary for my trading computer for no real good reason lol
Current plan is for XP to no longer be available to OEM box makers after June 30. You will still be able to buy a retail version until Dec 31. However, Ballmer has hinted that those dates might be revised depending upon user feedback. Bugs out of Vista? No. Depending upon your hardware and software, could be OK though. Trading apps are not "mainstream", so more likely to have difficulties with Vista than programs like browsers and office suites. XP is slated for support to continue until 2014. By then there should be an alternative to Vista.
