What's with the word "handle"

    the less i trust them

    i try to avoid all of it in my speaking and writing

  3. As a former stock-index futures floor trader from the mid-80's I can tell you that the term "handle" has been around for nearly 25 years . . .

  7. The old sp was $500x and traded in .10 at $50 a tick and a handle was a reference for a full point as well. This was subsequently cut in half just as the eminis were introduced. I miss that old big contract.

    agreed. handle has always been used. when you quote something you usually just say 10 at 20 not 1122.10 bid / 1122.20 offer
