You need to have a good understanding of fundamental analysis, and of the sector/ company, etc... if you're going to pick up pennies. I tend to scan through pennies for oppurtunities. Yes, you can find a solid company, with little or no debt, and good prospects, whose stock has been slaughtered. Just make sure you're buying the company and not the shares.
