    Hi Nitro,

basically I have no crashes or quote delays. my setup is Qfeed data with Metaserver and only about 8 symbols. All my data into tradestation is the same realtime as with Qcharts and my brokers(IB, for S&P mini ,notes, bonds).

Windows2000, 1.3gig AMD athlon, 512mb ddr ram, cable modem. I also run trade prospector realtime and am only utilizing about 5-10% of the CPU usage.

I don't usually have any data gaps but if I do, I can use Qloader program to get that quickly.

    have a good one.

Hi Nitro, Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering do you
have TS6 and Ts2000i installed on the same machine?
Reason I ask is I signed up to the TS6 account (no
brokerage) last night and before doing so, I uninstalled
2000i. Was wondering if I really needed to do this? I would
prefer to keep both for obvious reasons - some similar to
the data reasons you outlined above - TS2000i for
    'offline' reasons.

    Regards,

    Splat

and before installing it I uninstalled TS2000i

    m_c_a98,

    Ok.

I noticed you put up your machine stats, here are mine:

    Win2K Advaced Server
    2.4 GHZ Dual Xeon CPU
    2GB of ECC RAM
768 Symmetric DSL, backed up by 768/256 DSL
40GB 10000RPM Hot Swap redundant SCSI drives running RAID 1

I run 40 open workspaces, the eminis tick by tick, a squawk, a news service, and a scanner... All realtime...CPU utilization 75-100%

    Splat,

You can have them installed on the same machine.

Would I _run_ them both at the same time on the same machine? Only if I wanted to reboot twice as often.

    Nice setup..

Actually, I've had the same PC setup for two years; I just don't really need an upgrade at this time.

A little more: for the trading PC I mentioned I also have 3 monitors going. I have a second PC(which I'm typing this message on) that uses IE, Outlook, excel, visual basic, mp3's, and then also Xsquawk during the day.

With tradestation I usually only have about 4 or 5 workspaces open, so that may be a factor as to my trouble free usage.

    A little more for you:

I have 8 flat screen monitors - 1 fifteen incher, 6 18.1, and 1 19.1 all connected to the main trading machine. I have the capacity currently for two more, but getting a total of 16 would be a breeze.

I have a laptop 1.2 Ghz PIII that I use as an experimental machine, and it is also the one that I use as the back up in case I am in a trade and Behemoth [my term of endearment for my main trading machine] goes down.

I also have a 4 node cluster on a 1GB network. That is experimental...

Then there is the slew of computers that are just sitting around...

  7. It would be interesting to see a photo of your trading room. Will you post one?

What are you trading Nitro? I just can't find a reason for all that for what I'm doing.

    Sure,

Here is the older version before the purchase of the new monitors:

Look towards the bottom of the page for the two .gifs.

I have since moved to the basement. I fried a fuse in my house and I am afraid of setting my house in flames.

I will post the newer one soon if you really care.
