Good little clip. But since the 1945 A-bombs and the H-bomb, nuclear weapons have been seen as an inevitable first step to destruction of all civilised life through an escalating nuclear exchange leading to nuclear winter. This is not necessarily their only tactic or outcome.

If one can find the means, I highly recommend trying out this game either through the original console or an emulator. Fascinating stuff.

If only people would wake up to the warmongering of today's leaders and get rid of them.
Replace them with peaceful and constructive politicians.

We'd still end up governed by politicians. Who would mostly do just about anything for power. That's why they became politicians.

    Answer: Zero.

What are the odds of the North Korean threat being used on the House and Senate Floors to justify an increase in defense spending? Answer: 100%.

US going to war with NK without any provocation would be sinful and criminal.

Worst, with Russia and China on NK borders and Trump threatening unleashing the nukes, one can only imagine how quickly will the situation go from bad to worse to outright "sinister".

China has openly said that it will help NK militarily if it is attacked out of no reason.

Trump is giving Kim Jong-Un the narrative he wants by his dogmatic war mongering comments that are addressed not just to Kim but to every person in North Korea. We have two ego maniacs, twin brothers from different mothers, with millions of lives depending on the emotions of these two mental midgets.

  9. That's less a question than a foregone conclusion. North Korea will not attack the US or anyone else. Fortunately, Jong-un is quite savvy when it comes to Nuclear diplomacy, and understands the choreography well. That means he's also well versed in the consequences of breaking from these diplomatic norms. He's got an extremely valuable bargaining chip, and a pretty worthless weapon...and knows it.

This is the one that scares me. Proportionality is one of the central tenants of international law as it pertains to war. Unfortunately, we're in a position where nuclear weapons in response to a wounded ego is a distinct, if remote, possibility. Quantifying that chance would be pretty difficult though, because it's a few orders removed from the also unlikely news that would present the opportunity for escalation.
