When this thread was started there was massive ridicule over the thought that rights were being taken. Now court decision after court decision have gone Wildchild's way.

The Constitution is still alive, although hanging by a thread.

Plenty experts on this thread and in the media telling us there was no case against the govt during a pandemic...
Not only was there a case... 5 sup court justices granted an injunction.

Members of this Court are not public health experts, and we should respect the judgment of those with special expertise and responsibility in this area. But even in a pandemic, the Constitution cannot be put away and forgotten.

The U.S. Supreme Court granted an against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s restrictions on religious services in a 5-4 decision.

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES _________________ No. 20A87 _________________ ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK v. ANDREW M. CUOMO, GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK ON APPLICATION FOR INJUNCTIVE RELIEF [November 25,2020] PER CURIAM. The application for injunctive relief presented to JUSTICE BREYER and by him referred to the Court is granted. Respondent is enjoined from enforcing Executive Order 202.68’s 10- and 25-person occupancy limits on applicant pending disposition of the appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and disposition of the petition for a writ of certiorari, if such writ is timely sought. Should the petition for a writ of certiorari be denied, this order shall terminate automatically. In the event the petition for a writ of certiorari is granted, the order shall terminate upon the sending down of the judgment of this Court. * * * * * * This emergency application and another, Agudath Israel of America, et al. v. Cuomo, No. 20A90, present the same issue, and this opinion addresses both cases. Both applications seek relief from an Executive Order issued by the Governor of New York that imposes very severe restrictions on attendance at religious services in areas classified as “red” or “orange” zones. In red zones, no more than 10 persons may attend each religious service, and in orange zones, attendance is capped at 25. The two applications, one filed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and the other by Agudath Israel of America and affiliated

Federal Judge Rules PA COVID Shutdown Orders Unconstitutional – Governor Plans to Appeal

Governor Wolf’s orders directed businesses deemed “non-life-sustaining” to cease in-person operations. The Court concluded that these orders violated the 14th Amendment by restricting the right “to pursue a chosen occupation.” In particular, the Court critiqued Governor Wolf for the “shockingly arbitrary” classification of which businesses were “life-sustaining,” as the Court noted that the administration often changed designations as to which industries were “life-sustaining” and to which businesses it granted waiver requests. Moreover, the Court found it “paradoxical” that products manufactured by businesses subject to the shutdown order were still available for sale at “big box retailers and drug stores” that were deemed “life-sustaining.” For these reasons, the Court concluded that Governor Wolf’s arbitrary distinctions between “life-sustaining” and “non-life-sustaining” businesses also violated the Equal Protection Clause because this constitutional right “cannot countenance the exercise of such raw authority to make critical determinations where the government could not, at least, enshrine a definition somewhere.” The Court also ruled that the business shutdown order did not rationally relate to the government’s stated purpose to keep people home and away from each other because the closure of a small store selling one particular item merely sent the customer to a large retailer that was considered “life-sustaining.”

  9. These rulings mostly focus on ways the Governor's went overboard in shutting down some businesses and leaving others open resulting in an arbitrary decision as to what was essential and what was not. I agree with that detail of judicial review. However the right of the Governor to limit gatherings was never challenged or deemd not allowed by the Courts.

The "Bible" says there's no need for church to pray to the Lord.

    Matthew 6:6
    KJV...

"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."

    NIV...

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

    Pretty straightforward message there.

Pray in silence, within yourself. Don't make it a mockery of pomp by HAVING to go to church to do it. Else yer a heathen. So STFU in public and keep it to yer self, wear the mask, use hand sanitizer, and wash your hands with warm soapy water when you get home.

Pretty please, with sugar on top. Wear the fucking mask.
