having to support soros' concepts has turned you into the typical a one post deep leftist troll/clown. you should be ashamed.
First, this is nothing more than a media attempt to first link protesters to Trump and then paint them as racist or whatever-ist. Same friggen playbook, just different day. Second, if you are in healthcare, you don't get the right to stand in front of a protest and then claim umbrage when you get shit for it. Want to counter protest, then you open yourself up for all the responses that come from the conflict. Want to serve sick people and be in healthcare? Then your place isn't at a protest.
Since my daughter is a nurse on the front lines of this shiat - I have no sympathy for these "protestors" They are basically telling healthcare professionals they have no value and the "Liberate" protestors hope they die. F these dirtbag "Liberate" protestors. It is good that healthcare workers stood up to them to demonstrate what rational people think of them.
jem, please don't misunderstand. I don't have to say good things about George Soros, I do it voluntarily. He is one of the World's most important philanthropists, and is putting his money where most philanthropists are afraid to, because they know the withering attacks they'll be subject to on the internet sponsored by the authoritarian governments around the world that he has tried to undermine by supporting dissident groups. Soros is a personal hero of mine. I regard him as a genius in finance and economics, and not only that, but he's given me the best investment advice I ever received. There is a reason the room is always packed, and the invitation to his dinner at Davos each year is one of the most coveted. Sadly we won't have him much longer. It will be a sad day for mankind when he leaves us. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/23/dav...i-is-trying-to-exploit-trumps-weaknesses.html DAVOS, Switzerland — Liberal billionaire George Soros took aim at President Donald Trump and China on Thursday at his annual dinner amid the World Economic Forum. Chinese President Xi Jinping is “trying to exploit Trump’s weaknesses,” Soros told the gathering. He also accused Xi of using “artificial intelligence to have total control of his people.” And while Soros did not discuss the Democratic presidential primary, in which he has yet to make an endorsement, he said the 2020 election will not just determine the relationship between Trump and Xi, but the “fate of the world.” Soros, the 89-year-old Democratic megadonor who has a net worth of just over $8 billion, made his comments at a private annual dinner set amid a conference known for featuring elite business and political leaders. Soros’ fresh criticism of Trump and the Chinese government under Xi came after the two nations agreed to a so-called phase one trade deal. The agreement calls for China to increase its purchases of U.S. manufacturing, energy and agricultural goods and services by at least $200 billion over two years and includes provisions to root out intellectual property theft and forced technology transfers. While Trump has said negotiations on a phase two agreement will begin soon, many business executives at the WEF have raised doubts that another agreement will be made over the next year. He also leveled direct attacks at Trump, saying the president “is a con man and a narcissist, who wants the world to revolve around him.” “When his fantasy of becoming president became a reality,” that narcissism dialed up, Soros said. “This has turned his narcissism into a malignant disease.” The White House did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment. Soros did acknowledge Trump’s ability to retain support among his political base and undermine Democratic criticism especially in light of his ongoing impeachment trial in the Senate. “He has an instinct of how they are going to respond to his actions,” Soros said. “This makes the tasks of the Democrats who impeached him extremely difficult.” “The trial in the Senate is setting up to be strictly pro forma,” he added, noting that Republicans appear to be in lockstep with the president and unlikely to vote to remove him from office. At last year’s conference, Soros labeled Xi as the “most dangerous” opponent to those who believe in open society. During that same dinner, Soros took aim at Trump’s negotiating tactics with China in the buildup to the eventual trade deal that was signed last week. “Regrettably, President Trump seems to be following a different course: Make concessions to China and declare victory while renewing his attacks on U.S. allies. This is liable to undermine the U.S. policy objective of curbing China’s abuses and excesses,” he said at the time. Although Soros avoided discussing the Democratic primary at the dinner, he has continued to use his wealth to back a slew of political causes outside of the presidential election. His new super PAC, the Democracy PAC, was involved with funding several Democratic candidates during the recent Virginia state elections. Democrats went on to take control of the Virginia Legislature for the first time in more than two decades. Records show that the PAC has raised just over $5 million and has that amount on hand. Soros has been one of the top Democratic donors. During the 2016 presidential election, he spent more than $20 million on Democrats, including at least $8 million on a pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC, Priorities USA Action, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. Soros is ranked second among all political donors in the 2020 election cycle, with over $6 million in contributions. Just ahead of him is billionaire and presidential candidate Tom Steyer, who has contributed just more than $23 million. While Soros has not endorsed a candidate, he said in October that Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a populist from Massachusetts, is “the most qualified to be president.” — CNBC’s Thomas Franck reported from Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
she should talk to some of the nurses and doctors out here or being told they will be taking pay cuts. I am not sure this is being reported but hospitals are losing millions of dollars a month. They can't sustain that for very long.
Same around here. Layoffs and pay cuts. Pay cuts even for a Vent and Trach RN on the front line. The sooner we get through this COVID-19 wave via stay at home and social distancing -- the sooner hospitals can back to elective surgeries that account for over 50% of their room stays and the majority of their income.
I gave you above a brief media summary of Soros's remarks at Davos, but it's a typically unhelpful article that really tells you nothing of substance other than noting topics included in Soros's speech and then wanders off into an account of his super PAC support and political activities, the latter having nothing to do with his Davos address. If you should be really interested in informing yourself correctly about Soros and ridding yourself of all of the absurd views you hold of him, then you would have to devote about an hour of your time. I doubt you'll do that, but if you don't, than your opinions of Soros simply don't matter. For an opinion to matter it must be an informed opinion. Below, the 89 year old George Soros offers, in a halting and labored address at Davos, brilliant insights that you will have to patiently and carefully listen to if you want to gain anything from them. Following this you will hear, in the question period, some rather interesting remarks by those in attendance. Especially interesting to you would be Tristan Harris's remarks beginning at -23.00 (23 minutes from the end re facebook.) If you are only going to listen to two or three minutes of this and then turn it off and respond with some more nonsense, please don't bother to listen to it at all.
if soros tells the truth its only coincidence. he is a great trader because his trades for the banks as he pretends he feels it in his back. the guy got to buy a bank/lender from the fed reserve during the last mortgage crisis. (with a former goldman guy if I remember... and they had insurance guarantees on the bad mortgages. It was a no lose deal.. buffett gross they got great no lose deals as well. him, buffett, Gross, El Arian, they are Fed spokespuppets.
No one shows up for Republican Staten Island "End the Lockdown" rally to protest the current "New York on PAUSE" mandates under Gov. Andrew Cuomo, leaves the NYPD standing alone and perplexed End the Lockdown Rally? No one shows up -- except NYPD. https://www.silive.com/coronavirus/...-rally-nypd-canvas-conference-house-park.html According to fliers posted around Tottenville, some non-essential workers planned an “End the Lockdown Rally” for Sunday at Conference House Park, in hopes of protesting the current “New York on PAUSE” mandates under Gov. Andrew Cuomo in an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). But no one showed up for Sunday’s rally -- except the police. Fliers promoting an “End the Lockdown Rally” were spotted at the CVS on Page Avenue, and on the corner of Main Street and Amboy Road. The promotional material said the rally would take place Sunday morning at 11 a.m. on the Conference House lawn in Tottenville. "No mask needed. Bring your children. Non-essential workers. If you’re sick still come, it’s your right!” stated the fliers. The instructions were followed by the phrase “Keep America Great!" and “#MAGA," which stands for President Donald Trump’s original campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” Around the time the rally was supposed to begin, police officers were seen canvassing the empty Conference House Park lawn. Police confirmed they were at the site in anticipation of the rally. NYPD has been tasked by Mayor Bill de Blasio to issue fines for people who are not social distancing. (More at above url)
