What part don't you understand? Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What part don't you understand? Those are not absolute rights and the government can restrict speech or right of people to assemble. really simple...
C'mon Ocho you know the other side of the argument is that the Gov't can't just declare an emergency automatically suspend our Constitutional Rights either. Its a damn good question.. and the issue would most likely be determined by the standard of scrutiny the Sup Court decided to apply. I am not sure the Govt had the right to shut down Easter Services. I would lean towards thinking they could given the facts as they existed last week if the measure is considered well written and well tailored to accomplish public safety.... Today I saw an article saying the death rate of Corona is closer to .1 percent like a standard flu. It will be interesting to determine if we ever get a good antibody test. So I think if that is true... the Govt would not not have had the right to shut down Geek Easter... So...in short the Sup Ct would weigh the Govt's facts and goals and powers against our Constitutional Rights.
What about the rights of children who are forced fed all that nonsense. Shouldn’t Children be able to sue their parents for child endangerment?
The government has limited 1st Amendment rights numerous times that were held up by the Supreme Court in the past 100 years . Since the government's medical.experts declared this a national health emergency then the government can act. Sorry you dont like it but the mortality rate is not a deciding factor. stay the fuck home even in Easter. Sorry.
A couple of months ago we had a couple of rats move in, burrowing their dens near our birdfeeder. We caught one with a snap trap, and just found the other one the day before Easter (no lie), dead in a corner of our property from some poison blocks we put down. And a good time was had by all. It will suck if we find that some easter bunnies got hit by the poison, but hey, after all, rabbits are rodents and that is what rodenticide kills. Sorry kids!
or grocery if you follow the rules of social distancing and spreading out. Church services that were shown in states ignoring the rules had people packed in next to each other. stay the fuck home and turn on the computer to the National Basilica Easter service or.countless others. now all of an sudden all of you are rabid church goers.
Try to keep up with the rights' grabs and I'm far from a church goer, but wrong is just wrong. https://www.foxnews.com/us/mississi...own-city-bans-drive-in-church-services-easter
If you guys would just stay the fuck home for 4 to 6 weeks then this would pass but now people who did not give a shit before about whether they went to Church all the time are suddenly upset they need to watch a service on line. Tons of family members did Easter mass and Palm Sunday mass online in their house. Your rights were not infringed, you just want to do it the exact way you want to do it and fuck everyone else because no one, not even doctors should be able to tell you what to do. Again...why does Japan with about 250 million people have less than 8,000 cases...and we are going to hit 30,000 dead by end of next week perhaps.
