If you read only this, you could get a mis-impression. The large majority of buyers that are perfectly satisfied don't come here. For an unbiased opinion, your best bet is consumerreports.org - if you are buying a new car, that is $20 well spent. I am a Mazda-3 fan... I have a 2006 with 96K miles on it, and basically I've done nothing to it beyond oil changes. Fun to drive, great MPG. I haven't driven the new model yet, but it's on my radar as a contender for my next car - I just hope they haven't messed it up.
Agreed completely! At this point, I think I'll be happy to have a car that I know will start and run every time. I couldn't believe how many times I've been stranded with MB's that had less than 50k on the odometer. Last one for me no question. I do see your point though. I also liked the last E500 (W211) I had before this E550 mess.
I didn't know this about Mazda. My Son is saving for a car now. I don't want any more maintenance problems than I already have with a Benz, so I'll keep an eye open for a clean used Mazda. Thanks! Btw, after BMW (Broke My Wallet), the rest of the list, my benz included, is nothing but junk. Makes sense to me to consider a clean used Mazda for him, and a new Subaru or Honda for me.
I hear they are pretty reliable. A co-worker of mine drives a 6 and she says she gets no trouble with it. But it's one of the last generation. The newer generation is nice, but I can't give you any info on it though. They are still too new to know anything about.
