Any broker that you recommend(considering the costs of commissions and fees) for investing monthly on the sp500?What do you think about Interactive Brokers for doing this type of long term investments?
While IB is great in general, if you're very low volume (monthly accumulation on small acc qualifies as this) then IB can be more expensive than necessary. I'll leave it to others to make alternative suggestions though.
No commissions with Schwab if you buy Schwab SP500 index, expense ratio 0.02%. By the way Vanguard SP500 expense ratio is 0.04%.
In 1975 I was eighteen. Say yes to gal who proposed when we were in the Army. Never ever go into scalping/day trading, but start long term and swing trading commodities before stocks. Backtest, backtest, backtest and learn how to program much earlier. Day traders don't have yachts cause they forever changing and trying new patterns, just no time, big money and much more time to oneself when trading long term, swings, learn about hedging and options. Buy slivers of property right next to Interstates for cell phone towers and billboards. On outskirts of cities block off Interstates buy 50 acres for eventual storage buildings and buy old factories on outskirts of Denver and accumulate used bottling equipment, yes, one day people will be buying water in the bottle.
Yes... And after you make your fortune in 2000.... its time to kick back a little. So buy a lawn chair, a daily 6-pack of beer, and a Nikon with a good telephoto lens. Park the old '63 (with the hopped up engine and sand bags in the back) by the fence next to the FBO at Teterboro Airport.... kick back, take in the sun... and just start snapping candids of anyone and everyone who boards Jeffrey Epstein's 727 with him. List them on E-Bay in July of 2016 and see who bites.
