50% in SPY @ ~12% average return would yield $30k per year income, basically forever 50% in one of the S&P top performers over the last 5 years: 1) NVDA (Nvidia) @ 112% yr/avg 2) TSLA (Tesla) @ 85% yr/avg ( although I think I would hold off on TSLA until 2026 ) 3) AVGO (Broadcom) @ 48% yr/avg et cetera... pick one of the top 10 you like and go for it. If you hit 25% on the other $250k then you are looking at another $62,500 for a 2025 total of about $92,500. As long as you keep your current job for the next 5 years and live the exact same way you will be free to live modestly on returns the rest of your life on about a million at 12% or $120k for the rest of your life. Go to college, travel the world from 23 until you die. $500k is not going to buy you mansions and Bugatti's, but it will let you travel the world and pursue modest hobbies for the rest of your life.
What would I do? Drop it all on a bunch of leveraged ETFs and cry after 6 months when it's all gone. What SHOULD I do? Drop in all in SPY and live my life normally until retirement and just use the dividend money to bail me out of financial situations as they often come up in your 20s.
