what would be the result of abolishing minimum wage?

  1. I would agree with that. And that doesn't mean they can pay you just enough but you still qualify for food stamps.

If living wages are too high, then just shut down the whole country. It isn't worth saving anyway.

Conservatives don't like all the free hand outs for the poor they pay for with taxes, but they like it even less when the corporation has to pay for food clothing and shelter.

  2. Think about it: $7.50/hour x 40 hour week x 52 equals $15600/year before taxes.

Take away FICA/FUTA/FUCKYA, and you're left with about $12,000/year, or $1,000/month.

Pay $600/month for rent ( some shithole in the 'hood), $200/month for utilities (electric/water), $400/month for food (Mac 'n cheese & PBJ's...yumm), $200/month for fuel for your POS shit car, $100/month for auto insurance (optional, of course) $50/month for a cell phone so the boss can call and say "Wherethefugaya?", and $100/month for CATV/Internet (gotta have ur porn, right?).

So you are already $600+/month in the hole...and that's if you don't pay the Child Support. Better drive slow, 'cuz if the Police catch you, you are REALLY going in the hole!!

So, yeah, let's lower minimum wage, and then wonder why the US is overrun by Mexican Cartel gang members who sling dope instead of "getting a real job."

Are you F'ing kidding me??

  3. well, your figures are a little off. First of all, most minimum wage jobs are only 37 hrs/week. If you work 40 then the employer incurs time and a half if you have to cover for an hour or two and then in some cases they are required to provide benefits.

Secondly, anyone who spends $400 a month for food deserves to die if they aren't dead already.

These days, you probably do need a cell phone, but you don't need TV or the Internet.

The problem is, with no TV or the internet, the natives might get really restless.

  4. I still contend, the biggest mistake Mubarak made was shutting down the internet. Imagine if there was no internet or social media. What the heck would everybody do? As long as you can sit and type and bitch you are relatively happy. Take that away and there is nothing left to do but wander out in the street and start bitching.

  5. Have you ever been to a mcdonalds out of this country? No, I doubt you've ever even left your state.

I was at a McDonalds in the philippines once, where they pay the workers the equivalent of 72 cents per hour, and there were 3 girls on one register waiting to take my order. One girl punches the keys, another girl gets the drinks and the other one gets the food and and will bring it to your table if there is a wait. Many stores have tons of workers, so if you are shopping there is always plenty of people to help you.

When minimum wage was introduced in 1938 it was 25 cents per hour which is the equivalent of $4 per hour today. So in reality a "fair" minimum wage is $4 per hour. Not $8 like it is today. This is what gets employers so mad is that minimum wage is rising faster than the CPI. Why is that? If Minimum wage was $4 today, you would have 50% more minimum wage jobs and less small businesses going out of business.

  6. first of all, no, I have never been to a McDonalds in the last ten years. I would rather die of starvation than eat the crap they call food.

Secondly, I am glad you had three girls waiting on you. That's good for you. How does it help them you egotistical bigoted unbelievable self centered uncaring selfish snob?

Lets lower it to 5 cents an hour and I can have a little girl tickle my toes while I order.

Do you ever think about the well being of anyone but yourself?

The question isn't how to make sure you have more of what you already have. The question is how to help people who have nothing get some of yours.

Raise the minimum wage until even you can't afford to eat at McDonalds and then you will know it is high enough.

    I disagree

You would be removing 40% of the minimum wage workers disposable income that they put back into the economy.

Now double that for 2 earners, throw in 3 kids and the couple now gets earned income credit and receives 7 to 9k back from uncle sam every year.
