I know Oct 11th was one. Now, I'm not talking specifically from a technical perspective, ie: the highest down day percentage of XYZ index, but also days where Marketwatch, CNBC, Bloomberg, etc, had headlines like "DOOM IS IN THE AIR! THE END TIMES ARE NIGH! SELL EVERYTHING NOW!" or so. Is there a way to look at major headlines per day? Is there some website that specializes in news for stocks that would log such activity?
I don't read headlines ! It is distracting, delayed, inaccurate. When Dow dropped a tiny amount, news reporters would say DOW DROPPED 100 POINTS !!!!!!!!!!! 100 points is negligible !!! so it should be written as : 'Dow dropped 100 points.' When there is major event, news reporters are slow to report so get info from the charts and do your own analysis.
The most negative market day of this year was 09.04.2018 in Russia. It was mega crash down after Rusal sanction list included.
%% Best way to do it; +weekly charts can give you some real news also.I'm not a market maker , but a market maker said ''you will probably get the news before i do.'' He has better things than the news to look@, generally. investors.com has good news+ charts.......
