If you are so knowledgeable, why don't you give us some examples of how and why Jesus is a liberal. For all I know both you and this website are equally wrong.

  3. You jump to more conclusions than z. The reason I said conservative christians is because there are conservatives who are not christians. I guess you didn't have the brains to realize this.

Anyone who doesn't know that christians overwhelmingly vote republican and that non-believers overwhelmingly the opposite is too stupid to comment about politics.

For your last inane comment, it only proves that you haven't read the bible yourself.

You mean like all of those conservative judges Republicans have put on the court during my lifetime? I’ve been hearing the “one more conservative on the Court” mantra since 1981.

For all of their talk that they cannot legislate against abortion until the Court overturns Roe v. Wade the Republicans seem to forget that they have appointed all but 2 of the SCOTUS members to serve on the Court over the past 38 years and still Roe is in place. Anyone who looks to the Courts as a source of conservatism is an absolute fool.

Meaning Congress cannot legally bar religious activities in public places, nor prevent a public official or government employee from exercising his religion in conjunction with his public duties.

  6. Because of modern communism and its complete failure, people have forgotten that the original Orthodox Christian Church was in fact, communist. The Church had its own Christian communism and the faithful held everything common, as the Acts of the Apostles says. We should keep in mind, that Christian communism is completely different than Marxist communism. The latter is atheist. However, Christian communism is indeed an extreme example of the liberal tendencies of the early Church.

Much of the Bible was written well after Jesus died and Christianity already became an established religion. So the Bible contains a mixture of both liberal and conservative tendencies. However, during the time before the Bible was written, the Church was much more liberal. It was both based on the Christian belief as well as out of political necessity. The Church as a minority, oppressed religion, must fight against both the authority that oppressed them, as well as people's inertia of not believing something so new.

Times change. After two thousand years, it is natural for the Church to be on the side of tradition, which is the basis of conservatism. But a newborn religion two thousand years ago would be hard pressed to take the side of "tradition." It needed liberalism to survive and succeed.

I said your definition. Did you write the Wikipedia article?

In practical terms a liberal 1. Supports a social welfare state, i.e., tax payer funded charity. 2. Is generally pacifist even in the face of undeniable and unprovoked aggression. 3. Is given to licentious behavior on their own part or they find such behavior acceptable in others. 4. Prone to offer excuses for criminal behavior in themselves and others.

Then why did the Archbishop of Canterbury, who claims to be a Christian, once say the resurrection did not take place? And why do some self-proclaimed Christians say Jesus of Nazareth was only a man who was merely adopted by God as His son, i.e., Jesus is in no way God?

Then why do Roman Catholics, who claim to be Christian, say they can pray to the saints and the Virgin Mary and that they can obtain forgiveness for their sins from a priest?

Not all? How can two people be Christian when they don’t believe the exact same thing- especially something as important and the nature of God?

You don’t get out much, do you?

Is this really what was said? You can be a conservative and not be a Christian (a conservative Jew, for instance). But you cannot be a Christian if you are not a conservative.

  9. This kind of ignorance is shocking. Do you know how many Christians are in this country? According to the most recent ARIS study (that stands for American Religion Identification Study), the Christian population accounts for 76.5% of total Americans. Don't tell me that 76.5% of Americans are conservatives. How many votes did Bush get last time? 52%. And that's not all Christians either. There are non-Christian conservatives, as you admitted.

So even conceding that only a minority of Christians are liberals, it's a pretty significant minority.

Here is the website of the ARIS study if you don't believe me.

    BTW, this study is nonpolitical.

Why I hate liberals (socialists etc.)

    Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd)
"I grew up in a communist family, I have always been a socialist but when the royalty checks started coming in I had to decide whether I still wanted to be a socialist or become a capitalist." (As a socialist you should not be accumulating capital or if you do, you should give it away)
I don't think I have to tell you what he decided to do.
God bless his music but otherwise he is a pretentious asshole just like the rest of the lefties. I admit there is a tiny minority of dogmatic retards among them.
