LOL, they probably hit your site up on more than one occassion.

 

Actually, I was a moderator at two discussion forums (I don't own the forums...I just moderated) back then and it was not uncommon to see mesages like the following:

* Come join...

* We have...

I would also see them hitting some of the popular IRC chat rooms.

Now look at ET today...

Spamming obviously was successful.
