"What type of trader are you ?"

Discussion in 'Psychology' started by Wallace, Mar 27, 2008.

  1. Strategic trader. I should've known because I try to find all the flaws and any edge in everything I do! Not just trading. I've been known to drive people nuts with over-thinking everything and trying to see every angle possible.

It seems like we are not numerous to belong to the 'Values-driven-trader' type :)
Anyway it is pretty accurate. ( but maybe everyone could see himself in the description  )

What a nice little analysis to have on one of the first threads i read as a new member.

Unfortunalty I think the site was suffering from higher server load and was very slow and crashed halve way through - I'll try again later

    Detailed trader

I was in between on a lot of choices but needed to pick a or b so ... I don't know.

    Questions like

    Do you trust:

    Experience
    Gut instinct

were muddy to me since I think that 'gut instinct' largely comes from experience (can be more or less close to reality).

Didn't think much of the test

    Innovative Trader

Through most of those questions, I was torn with my responses because I think differently in my personal life as opposed to my trading life.

I really haven't innovated much in my trading life and tend to be a chartist and trade for key levels.

    Oh well.

  9. The best laugh I've had on ET in quite some time, except, possibly, for the threads from these "archetypes!

    Absolutely superb!

Oh, and Strategic here, apparently - especially if I ignore the article from the Sceptic, LOL! Another great contribution as well!

  10. I am an impulsive trader. the test really means something.
I trade randomly, without any plan, trade what I see or think to trade. everyday I traded different symbols, made money and move on, lost money and move on.

lik today in the morning opening, I was shorting DAKT at 19.97, covered it at 18.65, then I saw LEH, kind of funny, an idea sunndenly said to me" short financial stocks, they are in the trash", then I just hit the button and shorted LEH at 37.3, covered it at 35.5, then saw MTL, that thing is shooting, checked 6months charts, looks great, then I bought it at 55 and killed it at 55.85, nice day.

that syle really produces me money
