I just moved into a neighborhood that is 3 times as expensive as my previous one. On the first day, a man in his 60's came to my garage to talk me. He told me that his daughter and son-in-law lived on the other side of the street, that they were law firm partners. Then he asked about my job. I told him that I was a professor at xyz university. His facial muscle and mouth moved twice without a sound. Then he asked what my wife's job. I said she worked in zyx bank. Then he said "oh, that is where money comes from." Today, most of my neighbors came out to shovel snow, and hence I met some of new neighbors. They all asked where I work and they reacted more or less similar to the first old man I met. I do not want them to think that I am living on my wife's income. I almost wanted to tell them that majority of my income is from trading which is many times as much as that of my wife's income, but I did not think that is appropriate and I did not say it. What should I do? What should I tell them? Tell them you're on permanent disability and due to a very large settlement you're gainfully unemployed. Also be sure to include you're not at liberty to discuss the terms of the settlement because of a gag order issued by the courts. That should end any further inquiries because the word will get around fast! Good Trading!
Are you serious??? I lived within walking distance (3-5mins) of a wealthy neighborhood where the average home sells for about 1.3 million. During the winter, I would see about 3/4 of the people removing the snow from their driveways... Doing it themselves. * Shovel * Snow Blower * Exercise * Chores for the Kids In fact, those that hire a private contracter usually are the elderly in the neighborhood. P.S. I live in an area in which winter activities is big business. You see just as many people enjoying the outdoors in the winter as you do in the summer. Mark
