The important things in life will help you be the man that you are. You will have opportunities appear in front of you... as this is why you are here on this earth....view the trials and tribulations as tests... You can share about the real things with others now...you are free.. Be YOUR man....be honest with yourself and do not let others judge you for what you have...have nothing, but the important things. Fight pride...fight it with all of your might... When you die...which you will....you will leave nothing...but maybe you will leave something to ONE soul that you meet in your life and that could have been your purpose... All of this comes together as you grow older and realize how worthless you can be...realize all that you can.. that is important...people listen to you and rememeber more than you think...plant the seeds.. As Traders we work so hard and spend so much energy in the pursuit of the profit...imagine if after work we could separate the emptiness into glory. Michael B.
Rather than give you some hippie advice about inner peace I'll give you some real advice: Move away. Seriously, if you have a bad boss then you have no choice but to find another job ASAP for the sake of your career. You have neighbors that will never fulfill your sense of community on account of their asshattery. Life is too short to be around scum bags like them. They obviously have a very narrow view on prosperity and no matter how rich you get or reveal to be they will never respect you. It sounds like a bunch of degree stroking wankers that think the only people that are successful are doctors and lawyers.
Welcome to America...his neighborhood is not any different than others in that bracket.... Take a good look at our kids...take a good look around you... Money...
I'd inform him of trespassing laws and then beat that old man over the head with a lawn mower. Then tell him if he ever talks to me like that again, you'll have consensual sex with his daughter across the street.
Well I can tell you right now that a lot of Doctors and Lawyers [and people] don't understand money. Financial people do. I really find that non-business people just cannot fathom that there are other ways to make money than working for it. That has been my experience.
The group of Lawyers that I work for in my day job...TAUGHT me about money and are teaching me about money. My financial background as a self taught trader taught me to love money and to gamble...where the voice of reason in my day job is teaching me to respect money... I think you are naive and lumping together people that appear to you to be in a superior light...professionals from ivy league schools are not that intimidating...like in the movies...
It seems to me that that you want to tell your neighbors that you are successful, and at the same not telling them that you are a trader (for several possible reasons). I think you have to decide which is more important to you. Trading is not well understood, and you might have to explain it to them if you care what the think about you. In addition as mentioned above they might want "tips", or for you to manage their money. Personally I dont think its worth the effort to explain trading to everyone who asks. If you think so as well, then pick some boring profession that will not arise suspicion (car in the driveway on weekdays).
I didn't say all, I said some. Edit: Actually I said a lot. So I don't know where the leaves us, lol.
