Two thoughts: 1. For heaven's sake don't buy him a book unless he's specifically said he wants it. You might try find out if he keeps a wish list of books on Amazon.com. I have a list there and can always refer family to it. 2. This is your best idea - and it is cheap (kinda) too! Give him a coupon book of 1, 3, or 5 coupons entitling him to some special pampering that you know he likes but that you might not always accommodate, or you find inconvenient.
