Agree with all your points except with the Euro which will be a correlated move. How the correlation could break down, i don't know. Perhaps, a concerted move to zero rates including the US. FYI, we have an active gold thread.

TV, sleep, fucking and rest. No particular order is important.

  6. Hello,

I have been reading about you algo traders. Very very very interesting from someone who has been discretionary trading the charts price for about 2 years now. I never know such trading existed.

Get a TD account and use their "Ondemand" platform which is only one click away from the trading screen and replay the option markets from the past. I like to do this before doing an earnings play. I will go back in time to the last four quarterly earnings reports and play the last hour and first hour of trading around the earnings report. I will put my strategy trade on and watch how the bid/ask spreads fly all over the place. It helps to condition yourself for crazy markets and you can appreciate the crappy spreads that have to be used for trading. Then when earnings come out later when the markets are open, it's not a big surprise when the market explodes and you know exactly what to do. clue: stock needs to be part of your strategy so you can trade outside normal hours...
