Of all the far-fetched ideas on this thread, this is the most far-fetched....the Fed actually learning from history?

Not only recent history, but the whole history of bubbles and manias should lead any rational investor to see the Fed's fallacies. How do you fix the dot-com bubble/blowout? By golly, we'll drastically cut rates and replacing it with a real-esate bubble.

It will happen again. Not for a few years, but it will. Within less than a decade of "fixing" the S&L mess, another credit/real-estate bubble started.

  2. I think since they're going to have all these houses on their books, they should reward people by just giving them a house. Then you wouldn't have all this trouble with people not being able to afford their mortgages.

    If our government had any control over itself, it would give credit to the mess where it is do. The Federal Reserve is;
    * Rothschild Banks of London and Berlin (Rothschild and world economy)
    * Lazard Brothers Bank of Paris
    * Israel Moses Sieff Banks of Italy
    * Warburg Bank of Hamburg, Germany and Amsterdam
    * Kuhn Loeb Bank of New York
    * Lehman Brothers Bank of New York
    * Goldman Sachs Bank of New York
    * Chase Manhattan Bank of New York (Controlled By the Rockefeller Family Tree)
They made the mess and they are responsible for it. Let them settle the debt.
We need to go back to the gold standard and print our own money backed by such. Kick the fed out of the United States. We dont control them they control you. We need our own currency and no more of their fiat money. The Constitution says only gold and silver will be money in the United States. Article2 Section 10. Our money has been junk and all that think this situation will get better are full of dun.
How long will you continue to trade debt with people who write the rules as they go. Will you be one of the ones that cant quit the habit of being used. Get over your Stockholm Syndrome!

  4. This thread is beyond me. But, I know what they should have done before. they should have enforced the laws. they should have not taken the Hedge Fund money, or line of bullshit.

Now, I'll tell you what comes next. the Department of Justice. Those noble sould making 80 grand a year, being ridiculed, mocked, who will come in and clean up the mess.

You will see them come in en masse, and start taking people away. My opinion. Oh, and hope they visit Ft. Lee. CNBC is disgusting, and they were part of the biggest boon doggle of all time.

  5. Gnome, you and I share similar views over the govt. But with all this uproar and overthrow talk, we forget a simple fact.

    The govt runs our lives.

If you do not want this, you have to live like the unibomber.

Not many people I know want to live like the unibomber.

Even if it could be overthrown, who do you think will replace the current thieves?

And who exactly is going to overthrow it? America is too damn lazy, ignorant, and complacent.

  7. Doubt it. These guys will hire top notch attorneys. Maybe a few will be placed in country clubs or house arrest as examples. Some may receive small fines. The majority will skate. Media will publicize it as a crucifiction. The masses will feel that justice has been served.

For example. Obama and McCain are disgusted with the severance packages for the freddie and fannie CEO's. Tough talk. America is outraged, but comforted knowing are leaders are also outraged.

Meaningless...the CEO's will get their millions.

  8. To answer your question, the govt should give me back the taxes I paid over the last 20 yrs. With interest. And inflation adjusted. Real numbers...not that gobbleygook crap they spit out each month.

Print your damn money. I don't care if I have to rent a big rig to take it away.

And get off my fucking phone line. I don't pay so you can listen to my conversation god dammit.

  10. Do nothing. Let markets take care of everything quick and painful. Clean out the shit so we can get going again.

This is ridiculous, not to mention socialist.
