I think a social safety net is a good humane thing to have, just not at the federal level. big govt socialism and communism are the opposition to Christianity and other religions. you can already see the gov't telling Catholics and other Christians they must provide abortifacients. Socialism denies people of their natural property rights. Most forms Socialism creates poverty. Most forms of Socialism sinks all boats. Liberty and the Capitalism that goes along with it lifted more people out of poverty than any system. Even China had to adopt it. Man should choose to be giving. Govt should stay the heck out of our pockets so we have more to give to others.
