What prevents liberals from seeing truth?

If you were to say that they were willing to do that at their own expense and not at the expense of others, I would agree. Perhaps you just defined the difference between liberals ad progressives.

For the record, I agree with everything you just said (with the exception of the welfare state. And believe it or not, I believe their should be a limited safety net of some sort) because you just described my policy of life. I prefer to live and let live, and help those truly in need, as I do through certain avenues of my choosing. That said, I don't consider myself a true liberal. Nor am I a pure conservative. I think you just described a libertarian view of sorts..

Damn FC, are you fucking with me? You may have just giving me a smidgeon of hope for the future of mankind.:)

  2. No, it's really what I believe. The division may be about charity for the unfortunate. I believe in a centralized, country-wide system, where all citizens are commonly connected in a support system. It's the best way to insure all those in need are taken care of. And all citizens should be forced, as they are, to help out with this collective responsibility. If one can't agree to this very Christian ideal than they are free to move to Somalia. By helping the weakest, everyone gets stronger.

Part of this new "libertarian" ideal is really about the freedom to be greedy and selfish. It's a step backward in man's social evolution and no way for an ethical nation to operate.

Joe Biden is a pos. And Romney also volunteers (off camera), weekly helping others in need. One example was a storm that hit San Diego before the 2012 race. A guy had a large tree down in his yard, and came out to find a some guys helping remove it. His neighbor whispered to him, "that's mitt Romney." Mitt and one of his sons were volunteering their time to help. Joe would have driven by in his limo, and said "that sucks."

  5. Over the weekend, saw a tabloid headline... "Obama furious about Michelle's $150Mil spending".

Of course he was furious... that was HIS money. (Well, maybe it was. Didn't know he had that much already.) Doesn't mind a bit when it's taxpayer money.

There really has to be a safety net imho.
Ever been short of food etc. ?
Not yet. Well it can happen to anyone and does to many.
Do the up and coming BRIC and MINT economies have social safety nets ? I doubt it. Probably the similar fat crooks living in luxury and the rest can stuff it.
Call them Union bosses, mafia bosses or business bosses but mostly all from the same mould.

No social conscience = a mean person.

    For the sake of discussion:
    Why?
There is no "safety net" in nature I'm aware of. Why must we constantly fight what's natural?

  10. You should be thankful you've not been eaten by your kin. Federal laws apply in Appalachia, too. How many of your "family" are on the dole? Be honest for once.
