  2. Don't be dumb, America is broken and need fixing. I have been working for myself for 20 years and believe in Free Enterprise.

The Reps also wanted to BK GM, now that Obama does it they cry foul!

    What hypocrital losers.

  3. Probably 50% and climbing disagree with you. Give us examples of Obamas' outstanding job performance besides speeches.

And if you are self-employed like you say, how will his policies help you?

I am also self-employed for over 30 years and see this as an assault on capitalism plain and simple.

If you want to be a socialist, then one can see why you support him.

  4. I support Ron Paul and am against big government. However, some countries do perfectly fine with bureacratic governments.

Scandinavian countries do very well even with their loathsome governments. They consistently have the highest standards of living ratings. Norway was #1 for several years in a row. You guys can bring up the healthcare argument, but it's pretty irrelevant considering that the statistics show that citizens of these countries have great health and are on average live longer than Americans.

Just because there is big government, it shouldn't mean that it is a evil entity. For some countries big government is good, for others it is detrimental.

The United States is an example of a country that will not do well with a increasingly bloated government. It's too diversely populated, large and too important to the global economy. To remain efficient a free market must exist.

The U.S. needs to provide greater incentives for some people to work. People do not seem ashamed to sit on their asses. Welfare does not work in the US.

In Scandinavian countries as well as Germany (best welfare programs in the world), welfare works because people eventually get off their ass and do something. It's a means to get back on their feet. These people are embarrassed to be sustained by the government. In the U.S, people are content just receiving help from the government forever.

In the welfare example, as long as people don't try to take advantage of the system, the programs will work. The US is too huge to prevent people from taking advantage of the system. Also, its a culture of individualism so people are geared to take advantage of it, whereas other nations are more about communities.

    Ron Paul!

  5. There's a lot.

Notice how the Pakistani's are going after the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

Bush couldn't pull that off, yet Obama does.

Stimulus in paychecks, public works projects, providing money to states so that basic services, like police and fire continue to operate.

Helping fix and resolve the credit crisis.

Pro-actively engaging in the Middle East to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Changing credit card policies to protect consumers.

Helping people stay in their homes.

The list is endless actually and he's only been there 4 months.

Bush couldn't do half in 4 years.

  6. It's too soon to judge any president when he has only served for some 100+ days.

Politics and religion are taboo for me, but I will comment on the nature of your post.

    1. Your political perspective began when Obama announced he's running for POTUS.

    2. Your world perspective began when Obama announced he's running for POTUS.

    3. Your knowledge about Pak, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan began when Obama announced he's running for POTUS.

    4. Your knowledge of the Israel/Palestinian issues began when Obama announced he's running for POTUS.

    5. All other points in your post illustrate an ignorance of the U.S. Constitution, role of POTUS and the U.S. Government as outlined by the founding fathers.

I think that covers it all. No disrespect to you, just an observation of the quality/accuracy of your comments.

I would suggest a thorough study of recent American history, before Obama.

  10. wow,

you guys are slinging it thick and heavy,

perhaps one might consider religion instead of faith in a political party, perhaps that will at least give your souls solace...

faith in a political party leads to these threads, full of grip, disappointment, lack of focus, lack of consensus, lack of achievable goals, lack of honesty, lack of commitment, lack of ability to make a substantive conclusion.

life has gone on, upsets have happened, policies have and will in the future fail, so what else ?
