What next will emerge from the Bush Administration woodpile?

  1. From the L.A. Times

    1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

    2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

    3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens

    4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

    5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

    6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

    7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

    8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

    9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

    10. In L.A. Coun ty 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County ).

(All of the above are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.

Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigrat ion.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

  2. Many who I have spoken with, on both sides, are afraid of the sabre rattling with Iran turning into something much bigger as a distraction from Iraq.

And now the military base in Putin's backyard seems to be poor timing.

Other than that, I see Mr. Bush softening on Global warming, softening on alternative fuels, and perhaps working with the Congress on health care and medications. These things will tend to be more' of a centering move in my opinion.

Actually, I think the religion of g w bush was established a couple of thousand years ago. If someone is attempting to establish a new religion, one might look to Al Gore, whom, by many accounts, is applying religious dogma to environmental causes, and as such, has been described as a prophet by his followers.

  5. *Sigh*

fhl, if thinking caused me as much discomfort as it seems to be causing you, then I would probably refrain from doing so as well.

  6. Good observations. Bush has managed to screw up one of our most important foreign relationships, that with Russia. It's one thing to be on bad terms with France, but good relations with Russia should have been a priority.

You're right on the other points as well. Bush realizes it's over for him with his base. They despise him for selling them out on immigration. Sohe's going for some legacy building, which means adopting liberal positions that the media will like.

  9. How about the absurdity of the gitmo prosecutions, despite all this effort, all the bullshit law changes with defintions presumably guaranteed to provide convictions, two cases have been thrown out of the military court because they didnt meet the definitions, because they were "actual" enemy combatants.

Huh? Lets see them jump through that hoop, without more egg on their face.
What kind of bungling half wits are running this show?
    Oh, wait......

  10. I can't believe that I left out Gitmo. If space aliens were to watch the tv of prisoners, see the invasion and occupation of iraq, what do you think they would conclude. What 20th century events looked the same?
